The NYSTRS Employees
Because of you the VA hospital has 139 pair of warmer feet -Heads and hands that can now brave the storm and sparkling teeth for the New Year.
AND
The Van Rensselaer Manor had EVERY Christmas wish fulfilled….ALL 37
plus Extra slippers, socks, hats and a radio!!!
Warm and cozy afghans were created by Edith Schue, Winnie Nelson’s generous mom.
Ms. Schue is part of the NYSTRS family too – she’s been receiving a retirement check from us for nearly 35 years!
Way to go Edith!!!!
Here is a thank you from the activity director of the manor:
Dear Cindy and the employees of the NYS teachers’ retirement system,
Thank you for being so very generous in giving to the residents of the Manor. The gifts you gave were very much appreciated. I wish that the givers could have been able to see all the bright smiles, and the love that we as staff were able to witness when we gave the residents the Christmas gifts. Many of the residents have out lived their families and friends and have no one to remember them during this season, thank you for your thoughtfulness and kindness.
It is a nice feeling for them to know that they are not forgotten and our still part of the community.
Thank you for making this a happier and merrier Christmas for our residents. God bless you all.
Sincerely yours,
Dorothy Kevlin
